His Masterpiece Gardens
Coming to Gloria Dei in the spring of 2026 is the official opening of His Masterpiece Gardens. This is the next step in a series of enhancements to our campus and our ministries, all a part of our visions and supported by our members through our 2025 Immeasurably More Campaign.
You have probably noticed the garden area outside of the Life Center taking shape over the past 10 months.
This special garden will feature a scripture/prayer walk, beautiful pathways each leading to 1 of 10 individual circular reflection zones, bridges, stone features, dry creek beds, a fountain, a children’s steppingstone play area, a deck and more.
The deck and the reflection zones will feature seating and tables appropriate for reflection. The circular reflection zones are designed for different sizes of groups, including:
One with God
One with one other and God
One with several others and God
At the entrance of each reflection zone will be an easel which will name that specific area by a flower of which several will be planted at its base. Each easel will also exhibit a core thought/theme elaborating on how God has made each one of us his masterpiece followed by a large QR code which when scanned will lead visitors to specific scripture surrounding that core thought.
Next Steps
Over the next few months our garden team will be installing/ modifying the existing irrigation system.
Aside from the 10 new ornamental trees that were planted in the fall, perennial plants of several types will fill the garden in all areas with the exception of the paths and the creek beds.
Fundraising
The Men at Work group is working on developing options for raising funds to be used to purchase planned plants and finish the garden. Anybody wanting to make contributions to these gardens or for individuals or small groups or ministry groups to adopt a garden see below.
Adopt-A-Garden
Each of the gardens are available for adoption (sponsorship) be individual people, family groups, ministry groups, small groups, etc.
The cost for reflection zone adoption is:
$250 for the small
$500 for the medium
$750 for the large
$1000 for the deck
Adoption costs will secure the furniture in that reflection zone. Adopters will also be asked to purchase and plant the named garden flower around the easel pedestal.
Adoption sponsors (individuals or groups) will each receive an adoption certificate and will be invited to an annual celebration and potluck dinner in and around the gardens.
Garden Team
The entire garden has been designed and constructed by a volunteer group of men of Gloria Dei who are in the process of forming a new retired men’s ministry called Men at Work.
